A proud West Coast native, Steven was born in Vancouver and has called Victoria and South Vancouver home for the past 24 years. Since childhood, he’s been drawn to the outdoors—walking, hiking, exploring, and traveling. His passion for nature and sharing it with others led him to work as a park naturalist, interpreter, hiking guide, and tour guide. He loves meeting new people and helping them discover—or reconnect with—the beauty of Victoria and southern Vancouver Island.
His family history here goes back six generations, to his four-times-great Scottish grandfather and his Indigenous/Métis wife, who oversaw the construction of the original Hudson’s Bay Company Fort Victoria in 1843. This deep-rooted connection, along with the historic Ross Bay Cemetery, has fueled his lifelong fascination with genealogy and the stories that shape this remarkable place.
